A. Veryga signed the decision of the head of operations on how the Radviliškis government should manage the coronavirus outbreak: establish a mobile checkpoint or use the mobile brigades of the city of Šiauliai, to urgently organize the investigation of adult residents of the district.
The municipality management is obliged to ensure that “all the inhabitants of Radviliškis could carry out a molecular PCR test, giving priority to employees of medical and educational institutions, civil servants, merchants, pharmacists”.
In a Facebook post, the minister says that he signed the decision after assessing “the deterioration of the situation in Radviliškis due to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the proposals of epidemiologists and public health specialists and the fact that this municipality has difficulty managing the spread of the virus. “
On Saturday a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations will be convened in the municipality of Radviliškis, where it will be decided what measures to take to locate the focus of the coronavirus.
Radviliškis Mayor Antanas Čepononis says that it is planned to open a mobile COVID-19 checkpoint in the city, which will be decided on the work of some educational institutions remotely.
The National Public Health Center (NVSC) proposes moving to distance education for all educational institutions in the district, but the mayor believes this would be an excessive measure.
“It is proposed to introduce distance education to those institutions that had contact, but by no means those that are completely far from the city of Radviliškis, there is no panic and I will not allow panic, it is a natural situation. There are so many things that we can see today, that we even need to quarantine the city, today it is not, ”said the mayor of BNS.
“We will be vigilant and take all measures, but they must be within the limits of common sense,” noted A. Čepononis.
The National Center for Public Health approached the district municipality on Saturday with a call to convene a meeting of the emergency commission, having already identified 38 cases of coronavirus infection at Radviliškis Hospital.
