Such decisions were made by the municipal Emergency Commission on Saturday to locate the coronavirus outbreak in the local hospital, Radviliškis Mayor Antanas Čepononis informed BNS.

“A mobile research center will be installed and operational from Monday, classes 5-12 will be remote from Monday, additional or non-formal education will be suspended, all cultural events and any events will be stopped and not they will carry out, “the mayor told BNS.

“Students from first to fourth grade, elementary school, are left behind, we divide them into groups, vigilant so as not to cause special difficulties for working parents. Disinfection will also be strengthened in the city, and we will return to the situation of spring when there was quarantine in Lithuania, ”said the mayor.

Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga signed an order on Saturday instructing the Radviliškis municipal administration to make it possible for all district residents to be tested for COVID-19 in the event of an infection outbreak in a local hospital.

A. Veryga signed the decision of the head of operations on how the Radviliškis government should manage the coronavirus outbreak: establish a mobile checkpoint or use the mobile brigades of the city of Šiauliai, to urgently organize the investigation of adult residents of the district.

The municipality management is obliged to ensure that “all the inhabitants of Radviliškis could carry out a molecular PCR test, giving priority to employees of medical and educational institutions, civil servants, merchants, pharmacists”.

According to the mayor, the point will start operating from Monday, residents will be able to register for inspection in the general order as in all of Lithuania: they will have to call a special hotline, they will be assigned an arrival time.

“(The actual start of work) will depend on the hotline, people will call in the prescribed way like everywhere else and then the line will go, it will have time to arrive and samples will be taken on arrival,” said A. Čepononis.

In a Facebook post, the minister says he signed the decision on local measures after assessing “the deterioration of the situation in Radviliškis due to the spread of the coronavirus, the proposals of epidemiologists and public health specialists and the fact that this municipality has difficulty managing the spread of the virus itself. “

The mayor affirms that the spread of the virus is controlled: all the cases are related to the hospital, they did not spread outside of it.

“We don’t have any serious cases, everyone is a bit symptomatic, but most are asymptomatic,” said the head of the Radviliškis municipality.

The National Public Health Center approached the district municipality with a call to convene a meeting of the emergency commission and take measures to locate the outbreak on Saturday, having already identified 38 cases of coronavirus infection in the Radviliškis Hospital.
