VIDEO: No need to navigate in Vilnius

According to the press release, the Vilnius tourism advertising campaign “Vilnius – Amazing where it is created” presented earlier this year was also positively assessed by advertising professionals. Although the implementation of the campaign has been temporarily suspended due to restrictions to enter Lithuania, its creative solutions that travel to international creative and advertising festivals not only win awards, but also continue to make Vilnius famous.

There are eight awards for the history of disturbing navigation in Vilnius

The video “You have reached your destination”, which features humor about the disturbing navigations through tourist maps in Vilnius, was created last year as part of the capital’s “Walkable Vilnius” tourism marketing campaign. The main message of the campaign for foreign tourists is that Vilnius, rich in authentic, unique, historical places and natural corners, is compact and the most interesting things can be reached on foot.

Since the beginning of the year, this video has been competing with commercials from other cities around the world at international tourism advertising festivals in various countries. It won first places in the urban advertising categories at the tourism advertising festivals in the United States, Japan, Germany, Bulgaria and Serbia, and the bronze at the Tourfilm Riga festival in Latvia.

The ad was created by Clinic 212 agency together with comedian Paul Ambrazevičius.

Exclusive recognition in Latvia

The Vilnius integrated tourism advertising campaign “Vilnius – Wonderful Wherever” was presented to professionals earlier this year. The announcement, which invites you to look at the “unknown” Vilnius problem with a smile and encourage you to discover it, began in February in the destination tourist markets of Vilnius – the UK and Germany. It was immediately spotted by the international travel and advertising media, according to the Lonely Planet travel portal, the advertising news portal The Drum and others. With the onset of the pandemic and entry restrictions into Lithuania, the advertising campaign was suspended.

VIDEO: Do you know where Vilnius is?

In August, in the international advertising contest “Balticbest”, in which the smallest European countries participate, the Vilnius tourism advertising campaign “Vilnius – wonderful, wherever you are” was recognized as the best integrated marketing campaign. The video about foreigners guessing where Vilnius won silver in the online video category.

The Vilnius ad campaign gained even more recognition at the Latvian Creative Festival Adwards MMXX, where it was recognized in up to three categories, as the best integrated marketing campaign with the best online video and the best ad design. The outdoor advertising solution was considered silver. At the ACD * LT festival, the campaign video received a bronze. The “Vilnius is wonderful, wherever you are” campaign was created by the creative agency “Bechtle and Milzarajs”.

Borders don’t hinder creativity

While international travel is still restricted due to the COVID situation and the return of international tourism has to wait, tourist announcements from the capital continue to carry Vilnius’s message to the world. Recognition from advertising and tourism experts confirms that these creative solutions distinguish Vilnius from other tourist cities and help increase awareness of the city.

“The awards are not only pleasant for Vilnius, but also help to maintain international attention for the capital as a tourist city. Such assessments make it possible not to lose the work done so far and strengthen the awareness of the city in preparation for the recovery of international tourism, “said Inga Romanovskienė, director of Go Vilnius.
