Individuals returning to or arriving from affected countries will now be eligible for 10-day isolation instead of 14 days if a coronavirus (COVID-19) test performed prior to isolation day 8 is negative.

It is anticipated that the isolation period may be reduced to 10 days after the NVSC receives information from the eHealth system about the negative study result. In case the study is not done, the person is put in isolation for 14 days as before.

What is also new is that people returning from abroad can feel good if they do not feel the symptoms of a coronavirus infection and can go for a walk. As of now, they are expected to be no more than 1 kilometer from their point of isolation, but they must wear protective equipment (masks, respirators or other means) that covers their nose and mouth. In the event that a person in isolation is contacted by officials who inspect isolated persons to verify compliance with isolation requirements, the person should return to the place of isolation.

Isolated people returning from abroad and in isolation are still prohibited from visiting the meeting places: events, shops, museums, restaurants, etc.

The NVSC also recalls that all affected countries, that is, those where the incidence of coronavirus infection in the last 14 days exceeds 25 cases per 100,000. residents, arriving foreigners should not have before 72 hours. a coronavirus test performed during the period prior to arrival in Lithuania and a negative response received, except for the exceptions provided in the decision of the COO. A negative test result does not relieve the obligation to isolate for 14 days.

For Lithuanian citizens and people legally residing in Lithuania, this study is not mandatory when returning or arriving in Lithuania, but 14 days of isolation is still mandatory.

Note that after the change in the criteria for inclusion of countries in the list of affected countries, the affected countries are those countries where the incidence of coronavirus infection in the last 14 days exceeds 25 cases per 100,000. population.

Decisions of the Operations Manual on mandatory testing and isolation procedures for foreign arrivals.
