“The legal act applies from the date of its entry into force, on September 14,” said Justina Petravičienė, representative of the NVSC on Tuesday.

This, she says, means that people who have been isolated before this date have 14 days to isolate themselves.

J. Petravičienė emphasized that this procedure does not apply to people who had contact with the sick person in Lithuania.

On Monday, the order of the Minister of Health, Aurelijus Veryga, came into force, according to which people who arrived or returned to Lithuania and received two weeks of isolation can perform a molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19 after eight days. If the answer is no, the isolation is reduced from four to ten days instead of 14.

According to her, the procedure by which foreigners and isolated people can go for a walk has also been restored.

“If people do not feel the symptoms of a coronavirus infection, they feel fine, they can go for a walk in the countryside. It is planned that from now on they cannot be more than a kilometer from their isolation point, but they must carry protective gear that covers their nose and mouth, ”said J. Petravičienė.

“They can’t contact people, go to stores, participate in events,” added a representative from NVSC.

According to the National Center for Public Health on Tuesday, there are more than 8,000 people in isolation. people, but this number also includes the sick, there are currently 1202 of them.
