All rescued dogs were inspected by Dr. from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Lithuanian Health Sciences University (LSMU). Specialists from the Small Animal Clinic L. Kriaučeliūnas, received the necessary assistance, writes in a press release distributed by LSMU.

Head of the clinic doc. According to Birutė Karvelienė, the health, mental condition and behavior of the rescued animals are undoubtedly disturbed.

These animals were likely tortured.

“The animals are frozen, full of endos and ectoparasites, shy, I don’t know what it is to walk in the countryside and do natural things. We are currently observing reddened edematous feet, overgrown nails. These violations cause changes in the movement. The old scars are also visible: it is very likely that these animals have been tortured, ”said the head of the animal clinic.

After evaluating the condition of all the dogs, it was determined that twelve animals (9 adults and three puppies) need urgent, detailed instrumental examinations, for which they were presented to Dr. L. Kriaučeliūnas Small Animal Clinic. During the examination, it was found that one animal had an abnormal violation of the vocal cords. This raises the suspicion that the vocal cords have been damaged so that the animal does not rot, and it has been given a 100 percent loss of voice. It is prohibited to perform such a procedure on animals.

In another animal, tonsillitis was detected and a possible oncological derivative that blocks the vocal cords was observed. A biopsy and more tests are needed to confirm the diagnosis.

Due to the rapid deterioration of the condition, a young pregnant woman underwent an urgent cesarean section. Another dog is undergoing particularly complex treatment for painful ear infections.
