The highest number of COVID-19 cases, 9, was found in the progymnasium in the capital, Gabija, 3, at the John Paul II gymnasium in Kaunas.

In other educational institutions, two or one member of the community suffers from coronavirus.

The threat of COVID-19 forced the isolation of a total of 566 employees or students in educational institutions. The highest number of isolates was recorded in the same Vilnius Gabija progymnasium (96), as well as in the Raseiniai Šaltinis progymnasium and in the aforementioned John Paul II gymnasium in Kaunas (54 each).

Afterwards, 30 community members had to isolate themselves in the Panevėžys progymnasium “Vilties” and the Klaipėda progymnasium “Versmės”.

Daiva Razmuvienė, Chief Specialist of the Communicable Disease Management Division of the National Center for Public Health, stated that COVID-19 spreads only in Vilnius Gabija Progymnasium. But here it is also said that the virus is under control.

“The chimney is insulated, all contacts are collected, everyone is known,” said D.Razmuvienė during a press conference on Monday, adding that now everything will depend on the determination of students and teachers to follow mandatory isolation.

Assessing the extent of the spread of the coronavirus in educational institutions, the head of emergency operations, Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga, stated that he has no plans yet to introduce new operational requirements.

“There really is no such adjustment plan,” he said.

The educational establishments where COVID-19 is established are changing part of the usual training to distance education.

In total, according to data from Monday, 1,215 people in Lithuania suffer from coronavirus. In isolation – 8089.
