In Israel, quarantine is renewed due to the spread of COVID-19

The Israeli public radio announces that the strict restrictive measures, according to a cabinet decision, will come into effect in the country from next Friday at 2:00 p.m.

They include a ban on Israelis moving more than 500 meters from their homes, as well as the temporary closure of restaurants, hotels, gyms and swimming pools.

Meanwhile, these measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are being introduced for a period of three weeks.

The Jerusalem Post notes that the decision to renew the strict quarantine was made by the Cabinet of Ministers after a meeting that lasted more than seven hours. At first, Construction Minister Yaakov Litzman, who headed the Jewish state’s Health Ministry in the first half of 2020, issued a resignation in protest.

In Israel, strict quarantine measures were put in place from mid-March to early May to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, with only grocery stores and pharmacies operating, a ban on demonstrations and car restrictions. In June, with the lifting of most restrictions, the number of cases of coronavirus infection began to rise again.

According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the incidence of COVID-19 in the last 14 days was 100,000. the population index in Israel on September 13 was 464.7.
