Immediately after reaching the quarter-finals, our team beat Linas Petravičius and Matas Navickas 2-0 (21:14, 21:12) in the fight for a place in the semi-finals.

“We feel good enough to fight for the medals. We must show something to our viewers. According to the ranking, the favorites must be the Estonians, with whom we played a couple of times in the summer and shared the victory. There are still strong Italians preparing for the European Junior Championships. In any case, we can fight for the highest places, “said A. Vasiljev.

Lithuanian beach volleyball players started the tournament only on Saturday and for the first time went up to the renovated sand plaza near the White Bridge. Lithuanians are convinced that Vilnius has the ideal conditions for organizing high-level tournaments.

“The sand is really good, softer and more favorable for us than before. Both the course and the organization are great. We often go to tournaments abroad and there are very few places where you can find such beautiful places as Vilnius. I would like to see as many high-level events as possible in the future ”, agreed R. Juchnevičius and A. Vasiljevas.

In the semifinals, R.Juchnevičius and A.Vasiljevas will play with Italians Tobia Marchetto and Alberto Di Silvestre.

The duo of Patrikas Stankevičius and Mantas Donėla failed to reach the semi-finals. They were 0-2 (18:21, 22:24) behind Estonians Timo Lohmus and Dimitrij Korotkov in the quarterfinals.

Ieva Dumbauskaitė and Karolė Virbickaitė will play the semifinals of the women’s tournament. In the quarterfinals, after a persistent fight 2-1 (22:24, 21:14, 15: 9), they defeated Latvians Kristina Briedė and Krista Paeglė.

“We wanted to win too much at the beginning of the match. When there are too many emotions, it is difficult to make the right decisions together in the most important moments. When we were 8-10 behind in the second set, we told ourselves that either now or we were withdrawing from the tournament and ending the season. And we really want to play again, because Karol is doing quite well. There are no mistakes, but this is normal. The desire to play in Vilnius was the biggest stimulus for our spectators, “said I. Dumbauskaitė.

I.Dumbauskaitė was also happy that Karole managed to play better and better.

“Compared to Friday, it is much better now that we feel each other, we see what one or the other can do. For example, I am already more clear about how convenient it is for her to make a transfer, etc. Looking forward to the third day together tomorrow, I think it will be even better. We are not afraid of the competitors in the semifinals. If we can play well, we can advance even further, “added I. Dumbauskaitė.

In the semifinals, the Lithuanians will face another Latvian couple, Marta Ozolina and Luize Skrastina.

Lithuanian representatives Vytenė Vitkauskaitė and Urtė Andriukaitytė, who had the highest ranking of the tournament, beat their compatriots Karolina Šantarytė and Diana Kancerevyčienė 2-0 (21:13, 21:19) in the eighth final, but they did not hold it 0- 2 (12:21, 18:21) in the quarterfinals.
