Kėdainiai on masks: “Why do you think you are more equal than others?”

Although we know that civil society is a safe and united society, the Lithuanian mentality still understands citizenship differently. Therefore, it is not surprising that a comment about a misplaced mask is also considered personal assault, and a simple question or reminder is often very sensitive.

“I often travel on buses and I see that people do not follow the order because they are wearing masks. The other day I got on the bus, a woman was standing behind me, with a mask in her hand, getting on a bus to buy a ticket. And I asked her, why is she without a mask? She was still somewhat dissatisfied with how I dared to ask her question here, she was the one she resented the most.

Or another common case: get on the bus, sit down, and the mask whispers on your chin. He walks away and sits down. After all, the nose and mouth must be covered!

The most important thing is that older women usually do this, take off their masks to be able to speak … I don’t understand, maybe older people don’t understand? The mask hangs like a jewel and there is no protection against it.

Absurd, there is no responsibility of the people. Nobody knows who is a carrier of this virus, is it not so difficult not only to take care of yourself, but also to look at another? After all, maybe one gets sick easily and the other can’t cope with the disease.

Why do some listen to the requirements and others consider themselves better and do not follow the requirements? You consider us stupid, right?

Of course, the driver has to drive, he cannot be seen, after all, there is no kindergarten here to catch all that is needed. Maybe on the buses, what kind of soundtrack could I go, urging not only to wear but more importantly to wear masks correctly? Or the driver could punish those who sit with masks and how many fines he charges and gives him an extra salary, or maybe it would be fine, “suggests the woman.

Admittedly, he admitted that he also saw bus drivers wearing masks the wrong way, although he said it was not a common occurrence.

Curse

It is obvious that people do not understand how and why to wear a mask. But the saddest thing is that when they receive a comment, they not only offend and pinch their nose that sticks out from under the mask, but they also manage to curse a civilian with uncensored words. Bus drivers or drivers, who receive a daily dose of uncensored “thank you” for their concern for the health and safety of passengers, are no exception.

“The UAB Kėdbusas bus drivers learned about the instructions for using masks in public transport, and we also published information on the buses for passengers about meeting the necessary conditions in public transport.

However, there are cases where neither drivers nor passengers follow these instructions. Upon receiving information about a bus driver not wearing a face mask on a bus, we remind the bus driver of the need to wear a face mask on public transportation and warn that repeated disciplinary action may be taken for non-compliance.

However, it is more difficult for passengers to receive a comment on the requirement to wear a face mask in public transport, they are generally dissatisfied, there is a conflict on the bus, and uncensored words are used in relation to the bus driver and / or controller that made the comment.

Also, the bus driver should focus on road safety and not on controlling passenger compliance with the face mask.

Therefore, we believe that the Public Order Department of the Kėdainiai District Municipality and the police officers could help to maintain order in public transport, ”said Evaldas Cicėnas, Director of UAB Kėdbusas.

Complaints are not logged

Paradoxically, the municipal Public Order Department has not received any complaints about the improper use of masks on buses. Probably because the drivers, having received a tirade of bad words from the passengers, put their hands down and concentrate on transporting people safely.

And passengers, like some young children, play a game of “putting on / taking off”, when, when there is a possibility of getting a ticket, they suddenly put on the masks correctly and after the “threat” passes them on to them again. by the chin.

“UAB Kėdbusas receives all decisions from the emergency manager and knows that they must be respected. Whether people and bus drivers wear masks and whether they wear them correctly is controlled by the municipal Public Order Department.

But no serious violations have been identified. Passengers, to the best of our knowledge, respond to warnings. Perhaps it happens, it is forgotten, but we get the information that the passengers urged by the drivers put on masks when necessary.

However, as soon as I received the information, I called the director of “Kėdbusas” and warned once again that both drivers and passengers must comply with the requirements, urging that drivers also monitor passengers and motivate them to act. responsibly, “said Arūnas Kacevičius, director of the district administration.
