The Department of Health (SAM) reports that the National Public Health Center (NVSC) will no longer monitor isolated individuals to effectively redistribute available capabilities to fight coronavirus infection. The municipalities and the police are responsible for ensuring control of the isolated.

The decision of the Minister of Health, head of emergency operations at the state level, will take effect on Tuesday, September 15.

The directors of the municipal administrations are tasked with ensuring that isolated people who have been in contact with COVID-19 or who have returned from abroad are reviewed to verify compliance with isolation rules at home and in other living settings. . So far, municipalities have verified compliance with isolation requirements only for returnees who have been isolated at municipal facilities. This feature remains.

Going forward, the Police Department will verify compliance with isolation requirements for people with a mild form of COVID-19 and those whose medical condition allows outpatient treatment.

Police will also screen people suspected of being ill who have been in contact with a COVID-19 patient who is isolated at home or in another living environment.

Until now, the Police Department has only been in charge of inspecting returnees and foreigners whose place of isolation is at home or in another living environment. This function remains with the police officers.
