Lithuania proposes that Latvia and Estonia raise a poster in the so-called Baltic bubble, when those who arrive due to the spread of the coronavirus in the country need self-isolation, up to 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants from now on 16.

This was announced by the Minister of Health, Aurelijus Veryga, at a press conference on Thursday.

“For our part, we will do everything possible to preserve that bubble, there are already proposals for both Latvians and Estonians to abandon that indicator of 16 cases and go to 25, then that bubble could be saved, especially since Europe is discussing similar indicators. ., not just the Baltic countries, “he said.

A. Veryga emphasized that this poster would apply to all inter-state travelers, not just people from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

According to the minister, if the Baltic bubble collapses, Latvia can apply restrictions to both Lithuania and disadvantaged Estonia.

“But in any case, then we will try to find some possibilities, exceptions, so that both our citizens can travel there and the citizens of their countries who come to us can have a little freer conditions. But we hope to be able to agree on the indicators for 25 cases and then the problem will be solved ”, assured A. Veryga.
