Cases have been recorded in educational institutions before

The news portal tv3.lt recalls that on Tuesday – another case of coronavirus in an educational institution. Artūras Bogdanovas, Director of the Klaipėda District Municipality Administration, announced that he had settled in the Klaipėda District Kindergarten.

“A student from the Gargždai” Gintarėlis “kindergarten has been diagnosed with the virus. Currently, the entire group is in self-isolation. The facilities are already being disinfected. The National Center for Public Health is conducting an epidemiological study,” he wrote A. Bogdanov.

The coronavirus also touched another educational institution on Monday. The virus was detected by educators at the Raseiniai “Saulutė” kindergarten. The premises have been disinfected and the nursery continues to operate.

This message was confirmed on the tv3.lt portal by the mayor of the Raseiniai district, Andrius Bautronis.

“At present, all the actions that are foreseen in such cases have been carried out, all the premises have been disinfected, people who have had contact with the educator have been isolated. Public health professionals continue to clarify the situation, ”said the mayor.

As Akvilė Juškienė, a doctor from the Raseiniai municipality, told the portal, an epidemiological study of the outbreak is currently being carried out.

“As far as I know, it is not over yet, but all those who had to isolate themselves are informed. As far as I know, there are also isolated employees and, apparently, a group in the Saulut kindergarten, but I still couldn’t say the exact number. We are going to a meeting where we will ask the specialists to specify the number of patients that are isolated, ”he said.

A. Juškienė added that the NVSC provided recommendations to ensure that both Šaltinis progymnasium students and Saulutė students did not come and meet in the morning.

In the crosshairs of epidemiologists

The portal recalls that Daiva Razmuvienė, an epidemiologist at the National Center for Public Health (NVSC), has already pointed out that the main focus today is on new diseases in educational institutions.

He stressed that at this time it is the most relevant and possibly the most abundant chimneys are those that may later appear in educational institutions.

Commenting on the COVID-19 cases in schools, Health Minister Aurelius Veryga said that each educational institution in such cases must be assessed individually and explained what happens when the virus spreads.

“The black scenario, if the educational institution did not follow the recommendations, did not separate the flows, did nothing to prevent the spread of the virus, if everyone spoke to everyone, it would be to isolate everyone, decide what should be tested,” he added. such outbreaks are possible, he warned.

At the same time, he mentioned another more general scenario: “If the spread is observed in a city, some localized quarantine can be applied to a specific city or area, specifically the education sector and its institutions. But in general, at the national level, as has been said many times, an effort will be made to maintain the possibility for children to go to education so that their parents can go to work ”.
