According to her, the fireplace related to the family celebration, which took place in the Raseiniai district, continues.

“One of its participants is a student from the President Jonas Zemaitis Gymnasium. Currently, there are two registered patients, the whole class, that is, 24 students are isolated. The teachers are not isolated because they met all the requirements and did not enter into high-risk contacts, “he said during the press conference.

According to D. Razmuvienė, the infection was also confirmed in two students from the Kaunas Paulius II Gymnasium.

“According to the data currently available, the people were in the educational institution on September 4, 54 high-risk classmates were isolated and an epidemiological study is still being carried out due to the isolation of teachers,” he said.

15 institutions were affected

D. Razmuvienė reported that today a total of 15 educational institutions have already been registered, two of them: preschool, where the coronavirus is fixed.

“There are a total of 228 pupils in institutions of contact for persons in contact and self-isolation, and there are 14 pupils ill in primary, secondary and general education. There is a person in institutions of preschool education – kindergartens and kindergartens – and there are 18 kindergarten employees in isolation. ” – said a specialist from NVSC.

The doctor also reported that all children who are currently ill are being treated on an outpatient basis.

He stressed that this is the data from the morning, and now information has been received about new cases both in a kindergarten in the Klaipėda district and in a sick student in a city.

See no reason to close schools

At the same time, D. Razmuvienė emphasized that due to fixed illnesses, it is definitely not worth taking new precautions in all schools.

“These are still isolated cases, from the beginning of September, which showed that the children did not infect anyone at school, they came from the family, from the holidays. (…)

All fireplaces in schools are managed, contacts are quickly collected. So it doesn’t make sense to think that it would be worth closing all schools just for that, ”he said.

According to the doctor, schools are gradually realizing how to act in these cases: “So, if everyone works in good faith, without causing panic, those chimneys are well managed.”

Calls to learn how to live with the virus

Speaking about the isolation of all classes in the case of one case yesterday, Rolanda Lingienė, head of the NVSC Vilnius department, pointed out that school communities often choose a strategy not to live in a new reality with the virus, not to take all precautions, but to prevent threats that are not identified.

“But we can very quickly get to a situation where schools will quarantine everywhere in this way. Currently, more than 200 students, their parents and teachers had to be isolated in four school days. Yes, as it is. tried in the first days, whole classes were isolated that had no contact with the sick, only had contact with the sick, then imagine what the number would be. We need to realize that we will have to live with the virus for a long time, we have to get used to it. and apply all security measures, “he said.

Because, according to the specialist, there is a clear lack of information, remote school communities will be organized to avoid panic at the detection of COVID-19 infection.
