The investigation of the Financial Crimes Investigation Service on the 6 million Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga was also interviewed as a witness for the purchase of rapid tests for coronavirus worth EUR

LRT’s Research Division has previously announced that L. Savickas made the decision to start the acquisition in March.

However, this Monday the Delfi news portal announced that L. Savickas denies the information that the decisions on the purchase of rapid tests, which have attracted the attention of the FNTT, have been made in the government office. In an interview in Delphi, he said the decision was made by the Minister of Health.

“The operations manager made a specific decision to initiate the rapid test acquisition and compel the National Public Health Laboratory (NSPL) to implement this acquisition,” said L. Savickas. Health Minister Aurelius Veryga said on Monday that the decision to buy rapid coronavirus tests had been formally signed by him.

“I can’t really go into additional details and comments, because I just signed that I cannot publish or evaluate the material from the pre-trial investigation. In any case, formally, of course, the decisions that finalize certain acquisitions are, of course, signed by the chief of operations, “the minister said at a press conference on Monday.

ELTA recalls that the FNTT is conducting a study on 6 million purchases of rapid coronavirus tests worth EUR. According to the FNTT, the purchase agreement was concluded due to a possible falsification of documents.

The accusations were made against the outgoing Deputy Minister of Health Lina Jaruševičienė and five other people. Among them are representatives of the Profarma company, which carried out the tests.

The accusations made by the FNTT to the Deputy Minister of Health, L. Jaruševičienė, caused tension between President Gitanas Nausėda and the leaders of the “peasants”.
