Suspected of being linked to multiple coronavirus outbreaks, the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) urges employees of retail outlets and pharmacies located in the Vilnius Antakalnis and Žirmūnai neighborhoods to test for COVID-19.
“We are looking for epidemiological links between various cases and after starting that work, we saw the point of re-conducting a specific repeated survey of the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital, the residential building on Vinco Grybo street, the Antaviliai pension in Nemenčinė” said the head of the Vilnius department.
“It was suspected that these cases could be related to stores in the Antakalnis and Žirmūnai districts. “It is too much to see the links, but the whole ball needs to be unwrapped, so we strongly recommend … that staff at stores and pharmacies in these neighborhoods conduct COVID-19 tests,” he said.
Pharmacists and retailers are among the groups in society that have been investigated for coronaviruses as a preventive measure.
