New list of affected countries – no need to isolate after returning from just 3 European countries, not even Estonia

The list of countries most affected by coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was updated on Friday, September 4, with effect from next Monday, September 7. The list of affected countries was supplemented by Estonia, Norway, Hungary and Canada, where the incidence rate in these countries exceeded 16 cases per 100,000 in the last 14 days. population. Isolation is mandatory for people arriving or traveling through affected countries, announces the Ministry of Health.

Latvia, where the morbidity rate is four times lower, made an exception for Lithuania and Estonia on Friday – The arrivals from these countries of the Baltic bubble will not have to be isolated for another week. However, Lithuania did not follow this example and included Estonia in the list of affected countries.

Currently, in the countries of the European Economic Area less than 16 cases per 100,000. the population is found in three countries: Latvia, Finland and Cyprus. The incidence rate in Lithuania also exceeded the threshold for affected countries and currently stands at 16.1.

Morbidity rates skyrocketed in Italy and the United Kingdom, where they exceeded 25 cases per 100,000. population in the last 14 days. This means that people coming from these countries must now be tested for a coronavirus infection.

The incidence has decreased in Bulgaria, Iceland, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Kyrgyzstan, where it is now less than 25 cases per 100,000. population. Arrivals from these countries require 14 days of isolation, but coronavirus testing is not required.

It should be noted that people who have been exposed are considered returnees or arrivals from countries included in the list of countries affected by coronavirus infection or who have traveled through the affected countries. Isolation is mandatory for them. However, isolation is not required when people travel by plane without leaving the airport transit area or from a country not affected by a coronavirus infection via Poland, where only necessary stops are provided, such as refueling, hygiene, etc.

In addition, if a person has traveled by air or by sea from the affected country, they must complete and send to the specialists of the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) an NVSC registration confirmation or a paper questionnaire completed at the airport or port maritime. And if a person has traveled by land, they must register with the NVSC no later than 12 hours after their return or arrival in Lithuania.

Foreigners from countries included in the list of countries affected by coronavirus infection, if morbidity in the country of origin or transit has exceeded 25 in the last 14 calendar days, they must not have been in possession of 72 hours. a coronavirus test carried out during the period prior to arrival in Lithuania and a negative response received, except for the exceptions provided in the order of the Minister of Health.

Lithuanian citizens and persons legally residing in Lithuania from countries included in the list of countries affected by coronavirus infection, if the morbidity in the country of origin or transit exceeded 25 in the last 14 calendar days, it should not be prior to 72 hours. a coronavirus test performed prior to arrival in Lithuania and a negative response received, or within 24 hours after arrival in Lithuania, please contact the 1808 hotline or other coronavirus infection testing institution, except for exceptions provided for in the order of the Minister of Health.
