According to Rolanda Lingienė, Head of the Vilnius Department of the National Center for Public Health (NVSC), the situation is of grave concern.

“Specialists from the Communicable Disease Management Division of the Vilnius Department of the NVSC visited a construction site yesterday with a total of 700 employees. We really see the dangers of the spread of the infection, which is why we are actively working with the company. It is unfortunate that this example is one of those in which the principles of work organization are ignored in this case, which we discussed extensively in the distance trainings organized especially for companies and institutions this week, which must be introduced to avoid outbreaks of contagion, ”says R. Lingienė.

According to her, it is necessary to assess that coronavir is equally dangerous in all sectors, from office work to construction. Therefore, preventive measures, their clear composition and control are necessary. And this applies to all sectors without exception.

For her part, Ginreta Megelinskienė, head of the Communicable Disease Management Division of the Vilnius Department of the NVSC, emphasized that the company had already received clear recommendations on managing coronavirus threats and recalled emerging risks.

“We know that many employees come from abroad, so we will assess individually how the company follows the isolation procedure. Also, as usual, people exposed to high risk were sent for investigation. At that time, it was recommended that the The company will investigate all other employees prophylactically, ”says G. Megelinskienė.

It is regrettable that this example is one of those in which the principles of work organization that we have discussed at length <...>, is ignored in this case.

Taking into account the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the VKJ recommended organizing a preventive examination of employees who had no contact with the sick and immediately inform the Vilnius Department of the NVSC about the examinations carried out and their results.

The VKJ was also asked to provide a list of all employees who worked for the VKJ. If people work on different teams, also indicate this.

In addition, the company was asked to indicate employees who traveled abroad in July-September and employees who had contact with people with COVID-19.

The NVSC recalls that the answers to the questions about what preventive measures should be taken and what to do if a case of coronavirus (COVID-19) is detected in a company or institution, as it is evaluated for exposure, can be found on the website of the NVSC.
