Then I ran to my bedroom. I spent an hour there, but the explosion did not happen. For a while, I wondered if I should go back and see what was happening, but I didn’t dare. “

The defendant said he had been interested in Nazism since he was 12 years old, and he tested explosives in the forests near his native Jurbarkas at the age of 14.

The Vilnius Regional Court Judge Jurgita Mačionytė praised the testimony previously given by the defendants. It turned out that some time ago G. Beržinskas had entered the Lithuanian Military Academy. But he disagreed with the classmates. They knew about his opinions because G. Beržinskas did not hide them.
“The students of the course did not understand me, they considered me different from the others. While I was still in the Military Academy, I interacted online on issues of war, politics, Nazism or fascism. After the war academy, I was confused, feeling alone I was constantly tormented inside by the idea of having to do something to prove my truth.
I wanted to blow up some building or office. Initially it was directed to the Ministry of Foreign Relations. He often passed by, he could see. However, I later abandoned that idea and chose an object in a less open location.

The prosecutor asked the court to find G. Beržinskas guilty and sentence him to 6 years in prison. As a result of the accelerated procedure, a request was made to reduce the sentence by one third and a final sentence of 4 years in prison was imposed.
