Kristina Sabaliauskaitė, Benediktas Vanagas, Simona Burbaitė, Arnoldas Remeika-Bomberis, Viktorija Pocienė, Eglė Andreikaitė, director of the Vilnius branch, gave the opportunity to renew the Rūdninkai skateboard to greet Renata Mikailionytinka and spend one of the last blooming summer squares in Rūnnd last summer.
R. Mikailionytė, who used to walk on the podium and is now more often found in the garden or on the flowerbed, created the “City Gardener” collection and renovated the green of Rūdninkai square in cooperation with the clothing brand from active leisure Audimas.
In the green spaces of the square, flower gardens were formed and expanded, where 62 shrubs were planted with only roses, as well as perennials, oregano, yarrow, yarrow, meadows and herbs. In total, up to 22 different plant species.
“I really wanted to have a rose in the city. It is no coincidence that you have chosen roses: there are many meanings in your flowers. For me, it is a symbol of aristocracy, sacred, love and death, femininity – the queen of flowers. We, Sodo Botanika, planted flower beds, all the roses came from the Siberia Rose. Selected varieties are resistant to frost and disease. Each plant tells its own story, so it was not easy to put them together. It had an interesting harmony of old-fashioned roses with perennials and spices, which gave us modernity and nostalgia, eclecticism. At the same time, I wanted to say that the rose is not a spoiled and pretentious plant, which can perfectly blend into the modern and historical spaces of the city, ring and flourish, delight people. The non-static flower gardens will change throughout the year, ”says R. Mikailionytė about the rose in Rūdninkai Square.
R. Mikailionytė: “A new generation of gardeners is coming”
Introducing the renewed greenery of Rūdninkai Square, the famous woman, who discovered her passion for gardening, said that a new attitude of the man of the city was forming towards conservation, sustainability and lasting value.
“Looking at the environment, I realized that a new generation of gardeners was coming. Vegetation is chosen as a way of life. A man from the city seeks contact with green warmth, warmth. Plants require attention and care, which encourages them to be more intuitive and find natural worlds ”, says R. Mikailionytė.
The renovation of the square was inspired by the desire to leave lasting value
The renovation of Rūdninkai Square was inspired by Renata Mikailionyt última’s latest fall / winter capsule collection, “City Gardener”, created together with the sports brand. When cultivating the outdoor garden and its surroundings, the designer encourages you to consider your inner garden: the world of inner harmony. The latest collection combines R. Mikailionytė’s favorite and tried-and-true products with the functionality and developed technologies of an active leisure clothing manufacturer.
“The identity of a person is very important to me, and everyday clothes should not obscure it, on the contrary, they should serve them. Therefore, the functionality of the garment is one of the most important characteristics. Another equally important feature is the easy adaptability of the garment to fit in a person’s closet with the clothes they already have. This is important when buying and designing clothes. The fabrics were very careful so that the person feels comfortable in autumn and winter. All this combines my experience both as a gardener and as a clothing designer ”, comments the creator about the collaboration that unites the two great passions of life.
This collection stands out for its asceticism and versatility of garment customization. According to the designer, when creating the models, she tried not to manipulate the bodies of women and men, so the shapes are simple, suitable for both, the clothing part of the collection is unisex. The collection includes unisex sweaters and trousers, blouses with asymmetric closure, vest, jumpsuit, different types of dresses, handbag with belt. The collection is chosen for a combination of essential colors: black dominates, complemented by gray, red, yellow and white.
