Stylist Jurgita Malakauskaitė, founder of the Selfstation beauty and events space, who is amazed by the incredible changes in women’s style, says that just changing her hairstyle is not enough for the changes. Those changes must take place within a person. However, don’t hide, hair is energy. When it changes, everything else changes.

On this occasion, we talk about three charming women: Tom, Alma and Irena, not with the stylist herself, but with her clients about the changes that give life to a new image and the right hairstyle.

Take (31): “Not only do the eyes start to shine, but they also gain self-confidence”

– Tom, why did you want to change?

– The nature of my work makes me tie my hair to the locker, because otherwise it is uncomfortable. Hair tied at home, tied at work, tied at sports. So the hair not only did not add charm, but also bothered her care. Since I don’t wear jewelry, beautiful dresses at work, the only decoration left was a smile and the right hairstyle.

The friendship with Jurgita began six years ago. When I sat in her chair and didn’t hear “What are we going to do?” But rather “What can’t I do?”, I trusted her as a stylist and she didn’t disappoint. So when you no longer know what you would like, if it suits you, or if it will be convenient and easy to handle, turn to it. You tell us what you do, what you do, and she adapts the hairstyle not only to your face, eyes, but also to the activity, because practicality is very important.

It was spring, nature budo, I wanted changes. Fresh, light hair that will make your eyes shine even more. The eyes evoke an even broader, warmer and more confident smile, then the plastic movements follow and everything “catches up”. And you don’t feel like changing, and it seems like it’s just hair … (smiling)

After such a visit, I will remove much more than a hairstyle. I come out calmer, slower, spreading more femininity.

– How did the new me still affect / feel me?

– Now I look at myself in the mirror every day and I smile again and again. When you visit a hairdresser, your face changes drastically, your eyes begin to shine more, you gain more confidence in yourself and those around you begin to smile more.

Jurgita’s study is generally higher. There is an oasis of beauty and mysticism. Everything smells of such tacit femininity, charm, time seems to stop and want to turn to you, to be with yourself. After such a visit, I will remove much more than a hairstyle. I come out calmer, slower, spreading more femininity, smiles, then I want to stop, start not rushing again, do everything with grace, ease …

– How did those around you react to your changes? Are you getting more attention?

– At that time, my personal life was changing and my hair was the end of everything. The men around me rarely like short hair because for them it is associated with independence, courage, determination, the restless and rebellious woman.

Women tend to support, but the women of the so-called family, for whom the family and she alone is the most important, do not particularly support these cardinal changes.

– What advice do you have for women who want but don’t dare?

– Change is always for the benefit, whatever it is, it all depends on how we accept it. When it comes to hairstyles, take the time to find the right stylist for you. Hair is very important for women, that is why it is a very important detail of style. I keep saying that it doesn’t matter if the hair is short or a long, thick ponytail, but they have to fit you. If you don’t like the new look, let’s not forget: hair grows back (smiling).

And you need to get used to the changes, live with them, like when you choose a new style. And I can say that once you meet a real stylist, you don’t want to go to the hairdresser anymore.

Alma (66): “Change leads to a new experience, it arises”

– Alma, why did you want to change?

– Actually, I didn’t plan them. It happened on the spur of the moment. Perhaps that change was due in part to a change in life, on May 1 of last year. day off, it’s still happeningsmiling), it does not mean that I am sitting between four walls, I have many other activities.

This change was probably somewhat influenced by the wig that was once worn and the appreciation of those around them, especially family members, that different short haircuts and different colors were very suitable. But we played, and they put it aside, it was not thought that I wanted to be like that. And this summer, I unexpectedly received a gift for my birthday: visiting a stylist. So you can say that this change was driven primarily by children.

When it was time to sit in the chair to shave, I told him I didn’t want to see anything.

The day before, before visiting the room, I participated in “Dialogue in the dark”, an event during which various experiences are developed in the blind darkness, fostering thinking about trust, experiences, human feelings, opportunities in the darkness. It is run by visually impaired people.

This event was really very exciting, it gave me the opportunity to look at myself, my feelings, experiences and life values from the outside. All members of my family have been involved. After him, my daughter told me: “When you go to Jurgita, feel like you are in ‘Dialogue in the dark’.

When Jurgita arrived, I said, “I’ve come for a change. I received it as a gift, I give it to you completely ”. She didn’t tell me what she was going to do, she just said that a hairstyle, a haircut like mine looks pretty good on me. I spent five hours there! When it was time to sit in the chair to shave, I told him that I didn’t want to see anything and that when he was done, he would tell me when he could open his eyes.

– What was your reaction to seeing yourself in the mirror?

– When I was allowed to open my eyes, I said: “Wow, Jurgita, here I am?” There was a very big surprise that I liked. I even hugged her for that change. Her wish for me was to take into account the brushstrokes of her lips as all my makeup shades were lighter.

The same day that I kept looking in the mirror, I was like, ‘Oh hi!’ ”(Serie)

– How did the new me still affect / feel me?

– Really very good and fun. I am a general person that if something has already changed, I will never regret it. When it comes to hair and rational thinking, here only hair, it will grow, you want, and there will be pancakes. I am very satisfied with this change, the environment has also recognized my new image and appreciated it. It’s been a month, but I still look in the mirror to see if it really happened (smiling).

My advice: try it! I don’t like it: you will stay different for a month and you can be the same again.

– What advice do you have for women who want but don’t dare?

– You know, on my 66th birthday, I wanted to turn that number upside down, to see what it would be like when I turned 99. There is still a long way to go, 33 years. So I wish you all the same: that those numbers change. Let’s get it, let’s be happy.

I always say that change leads to a new experience, a new emotion, in a sense we enrich ourselves by living in the process of change or experiencing it, it elevates a person. What a hair here, when I was 50 years old, I moved from Klaipeda to Vilnius to work for love. You couldn’t make a change either, because everything is already formed, it’s normal. But I find it interesting, I find it tower.

So my advice for any changes: give it a try! I don’t like it: you will stay different for a month and you can be the same again.

Irena (80): “It was hard for me to believe that it could look so good”

Irena, why and when did these amazing changes come into your life?

Well, when it comes to change, innovation, I am not a conservative. I started visiting Jurgit 12-14 years ago, I don’t remember it very precisely. That period of my life was sad. I had recently buried my mother, who retired. Anyway, I have always lived an active life, since school I have been playing sports and participating in activities. And now I like to go to the theater as well as to the concert, to travel, it interests me a lot. I’m not bored (smiling).

– How did the new me affect / how it works?

– Then, when Jurgita changed my hairstyle for the first time, I felt such a recovery, it began as if my revival, both spiritual and physical, wanted to do something, act.

I also caught the attention of those around me. I found a job. There I began to praise my changes as Jurgita continued to update her hairstyle. And the grandchildren were very surprised to say that they show my photos to my friends and brag that I am their grandmother (Serie). It really lifts your spirits, gives optimism!

I don’t know, Jurgita apparently has something in her, because her touch, combing, communicating with herself works in a very calm, positive way. Sometimes, sometimes I approach her in a bad mood, and I go out, as they say, almost by the wings. Life illuminates. It gives me energy not only visually but also spiritually, I feel good, that’s why I don’t feel late (smiling).

The grandchildren were very surprised when they said they were showing my photos to their friends and praising me as their grandmother (Serie).

I participated in a photo session organized by Jurgita, when I looked in the mirror, I was shocked. It felt so good! I was encouraged and shocked on the bright side. It was hard to believe that she could see me so well!

Now I visit the hairdresser less often, I am 80 years old, I go with my daughter, that’s something else. The last time I was in spring, my hair had already grown back. She was the one who painted them for me, she yelled at them, it was such an uplifting mood. Apparently for the good that radiated from me and the people at the bus stop looked at me (Serie). And near the house I received a flower from a man! They are almost miracles.

– What advice do you have for women who want but don’t dare?

– It seems to me that you just need to have confidence in yourself and not be afraid to try. And don’t think the years are getting old, and that’s it. If you try to look better and someone else praises you from the side, that adds more energy and self-confidence.

While I was still working, the younger women laughed and said, “We took an example from you on how to look and feel good.” Such accolades further lead to stretching. People like to think about what others will say. It is important for me to trust myself to see myself well in the mirror. And when there are more good emotions, optimism, it makes everything feel much better and more energy.
