“Dūmų fabrikas” is located in the old scythe factory in Naujoji Vilnia. The sculpture factory founded by the German Emil Posel in the 19th century was the largest in the world at that time. Visitors will be invited to see this 1882. Build and hear interesting stories: E. Poselis brought not only the most advanced technologies and workers to his scissors factory at that time, but also Western culture, attitudes towards business relationships and population. During excursions, you will be able to learn many other interesting historical stories, such as the Duke of Alšia’s castle located here. Tours will run three times: at 12 noon, 2 pm and 6 pm, according to a press release.

All Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. In the courtyard of “Dūmų fabrikas” there will be a terrace of German cuisine with traditional food and drinks from outdoor festivals: your stomachs will be delighted with sausages, ribs and delicious corpses. Kids will enjoy the muffins. The representatives of the Lithuanian Barbecue Association will take care of the food.

4 p.m. – children’s time. The incoming Table Theater will perform the first German folk tale “Golden Roe Deer.” Stalo Teatras keeps two Golden Crosses from the Stage, awards from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania and endless souvenirs from tours, from Lithuania, Europe and around the world. Tickets are distributed by Tiketa.

In the evening, the longest-running visitors will be screened by German director Fatih Akin’s film “On the other side” (“Auf der Anderen Seite”), a drama awarded for best screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival. This movie was released in 2008. It was also shown at Cinema Spring. The film is available at the Goethe-Institut.

For those who want a quieter activity, there is the opportunity to see an exhibition of works by the painter Meda Norbutaitė, which decorates the white walls of the spacious factory.
