J.Adomaitis leads the Lithuanian youth men’s team (U18), but the coach in recent days is not the most pleasant story.
The specialist recently worked at several major Lithuanian universities: Vilnius Gediminas Technical (VGTU) and Mykolas Romeris (MRU), and finished this season at Vilnius College.
J.Adomaitis started working with MRU students, but it only took a few months here. The girls submitted a complaint to the university management, written on January 14 of this year, after which J. Adomaitis lost his job.
“Several members of the team suffered sexual harassment during training. Non-professional messages were also written. For this reason, girls avoid and do not attend training sessions as it affects their emotional state. We also want to be given the opportunity to train at the Mykolas Romeris University Pavilion and we hope that, taking into account the current situation, we will be given the opportunity to have a new coach ”, quotes tv3.lt in the letter received.
Darius Čerka, president of the Lithuanian Volleyball Federation, is a former student of J.Adomaitis and claimed that he had never heard of the complaints and harassment from the students.
Meanwhile, J. Adomaitis himself stated that it is a biased attack.
“I work the same everywhere. For me the most important thing is that the team plays well. All the time I worked, the results were always good. You put in a lot of work, but it attacks you. At that time, it was easier to blame me. Me too And I have to show that I am clean, “the technician quotes tv3.lt.
In the past, J. Adomaitis was one of the best volleyball players in the country, he became the Lithuanian champion four times and won the Estonian and Ukrainian championships. Having started his coaching career, he worked with both men and women, in 1994 he led the Lithuanian men’s volleyball team and later successfully led student teams.
