US President Donald Trump, who will launch a campaign against Chinese-owned tech companies, gave US companies 45 days to end cooperation with ByteDance and Tencent. The latter run the TikTok social network and the WeChat meeting program.

The president takes two resins with which the American mons will no longer be able to work with Chinese business groups after this grace period, reports the Financial Times.

According to Trump, these companies pose a threat to national security by collecting private data that can then be used by the Chinese government to spy.

According to some analysts, the latest resin could help the American company Microsoft in the negotiations of the TikTok business in the United States. The president is ready to allow time for the deal to be banned by September 15. The popular short video sharing platform will be banned.

In addition, on Thursday, the Trump administration issued recommendations for Chinese companies listed on US stock exchanges to remain unless their authorities have access to billing information.

After announcing the latest documents signed by D. Trump, WeChat owner Tencent’s share price on the stock market fell by a tenth. Other Chinese mons on the list also felt the effects. Alibaba’s share price fell 6.4%, while China’s CSI 300 Index fell 1.7%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 2.6%.

Mike Pompeo, the US secretary of state, says the actions on TikTok are just part of a broader campaign to target Chinese companies with access to citizens’ personal data.
