The previous record of COVID-19 cases detected daily was recorded Thursday, with 615 cases confirmed by evidence.
The health ministry said in a Twitter message that the coronavirus epidemic has also claimed the lives of seven people in the last day.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country increased to 45,688 and the number of deaths to 1,716.

A further 77 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in neighboring Lesser Poland Voivodeship, which owns the historic city of Krakow and the popular mountain resort of Zakopane.
The most recent victims of coronavirus infection were four men between the ages of 59 and 80 and three women between the ages of 79 and 91, the health ministry said. It is also reported that the majority of these patients had concomitant chronic diseases.

Poland was one of the members of the European Union, which were the first to impose strict restrictions to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. The country closed its borders to foreigners, suspended school work, and urged residents to stay home.
Government spokesman Peter Muller said Warsaw was considering introducing mandatory quarantine for arrivals “from some EU countries and from other countries”, including Spain, for the next three weeks.
The pandemic forced Poland to postpone the presidential elections on May 10 for more than a month.
During the two rounds of elections, held on June 28 and July 12, it was required to wear masks, use hand sanitizers and observe the social distance. In a tense vote, President Andrzej Duda, backed by the conservative ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, secured a second term, winning by a small margin against a liberal rival.
