There seems to be some truth to these mocking words. The gym bosses interviewed by Delfi confirmed: The last call will probably be organized remotely, educators are already preparing the speeches. On May 22, the call will ring, albeit virtually. Graduates are encouraged to create video greetings for their teachers.
The launch has not yet been canceled
Event organizer Remigijus Žiogas said graduation celebrations were reserved a year ago. “It just caught our eye then. For several years, the halls have been booked well in advance, and at that time there was no thought of the coronavirus,” said R. Žiogas.
However, even in this case, there are solutions: Many hallways have outdoor terraces. “Of course, moving to vacations would have additional costs. Graduation festivities will take place in July, there will definitely not be one last call. Traditions will have to be broken, for example, the last call is more popular in Kaunas than graduates of graduation, but the meeting will also be postponed until July, “said the interlocutor.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the main maturity screening session for graduates this year will be held later than usual; It is scheduled to take place from June 22 to July 21. Will there be time to have fun?
“Last year, graduates organized graduations without knowing the test results. He mentioned the same fact: he completed twelfth grade. And this year, in the same way, if the situation allows, he will celebrate between exams, if no, after them ”, R. Žiogas is convinced.
Many graduates promise to name participants in August, they do not intend to celebrate graduation at that time. The registration of applications for admission to higher education institutions is postponed until August 18.
When asked what this year’s graduation event should be like, R. Giogas said that today it is difficult to imagine everything, but much will depend on how the spread of the virus is managed.
He seems to be doing quite well so far: through the office window, located in Klaipeda’s city center, R. Žiogas sees more and more people, the masks have already fallen on his beard. Graduation is in July, so graduates will most likely be able to see the coronavirus through the prism of laughter at the time.
Perhaps the graduation cake will have the shape of a medical mask, and for drinks it will be a kind of “disinfecting” liquid. “Young people are not at risk. I think fewer parents and older teachers will participate in the celebration,” said the organizer of the event.
Will the celebration take place, even partially?
Graduates, according to R. Giogas, will celebrate the celebration, in any case. There are no government decisions to stop this: graduations will take place, although not as strong, although without photos or videos. After the solemn and careful presentation of the certificate in churches or outdoor spaces, graduation ceremonies will move to country houses, pavilions, where DJs and other entertainment will be waiting for you. “After all, he will not tell graduates that we will celebrate graduation in a year or two. That will not be the case, somehow they will continue to happen,” he did not hesitate.
Graduations are not weddings that can be postponed to a later date. Celebrate graduation with classmates after one year? Many of them will already be studying or working, those interests will no longer be relevant. Young people will find a wide variety of ways to celebrate. If the celebration is not allowed, there will be partisan graduations, ”said R. Žiogas.
Simonas Indrašius, another host of the events and a member of the A team, interviewed by Delfi, said that he did not support the “partisan” movement of graduates, the most important thing was health. Yes, event organizers lose revenue, but they warn immediately: none of them will participate in such adventures. Be civic, vigilant and responsible.
Admittedly, you’ve also heard of certain cases where homes are hired during quarantine – there are unfair deals in the event-organizing market, so they’re just trying to survive. And the graduates are very eager to celebrate, they feel that there will be an end of the world if the celebration is not carried out.
S. Indrašius stressed that so far the Government has not approved any date on which it is possible to organize events for up to 50 or 100 people. “It is difficult enough for both the organizers and the clients. It is not entirely clear what will happen next. Until now, people are trying to organize, organize, keep optimistic thoughts. How it really will be, is unknown.” The young people would celebrate today, but unfortunately the situation is like this, “he said.
However, the vast majority of clients have not yet started planning events – they are moving the holidays to fall.
“The contracts have been supplemented with new clauses: COVID-19, emergency, pandemic. Even if the quarantine is lifted, the emergency situation may remain. Then, the power limits for flights, borders and events. The clauses of the contracts mentioned above protect both the client and the contractor. We are trying to find a golden means, a mutual agreement, so that neither party suffers, “explained S. Indrašius.
When asked how much graduates are willing to spend on their graduations this year, the interviewee said that very different amounts. Approximately from 100 to 250 euros: this amount includes the night program, food, drinks, farm or lounge. “I always say there is Vilnius and the rest of Lithuania. Graduates from smaller cities and towns are ready to spend around 100 euros per person. There are many different record holders among the Vilnius people: the most famous gym or high school graduates and popular spend as much as 200 to 250 euros, “said S. Indrašius. He predicted that if events were allowed to take place, prices would likely remain the same, perhaps slightly lower.
Young people would like to see the country’s most famous DJs or the performance of a professional artist, a group, at their graduations. The venue is no less important – popular clubs, bars, and other welcoming spaces are chosen for graduations.
CMS: will depend on the epidemiological situation.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (SMSM), who spoke with Delfi, said that the last call marks the end of the twelve school year: it was made by the schools in the last days of May, when the school year ends for the graduates.
It is still difficult to determine if the celebration of the last convocation of this year will take place in schools as usual at this time, depending on the general epidemiological situation, whether quarantine will be applied and, if so, what its requirements will be. In any case, holding the last call does not interfere with the exam session, the only possible restriction is quarantine.
The graduation ceremony is generally held after the examination session, after receiving the certificates of maturity. This year, because the virus delays the maturity screening session, maturity certificates will be issued in August instead of July. If the virus disappears, according to the SMSM representatives, there will be no obstacles to the celebration of the release. “We very much understand the desire of graduates and their parents to mention graduation in a beautiful and community way. However, in all cases it is important to comply with security requirements, to protect the health of oneself and loved ones, “stressed the representatives of the Ministry.
