In the Aleksotas sector, the patient was admitted to an isolation room, where he awaited the results of the examination. If the test turns out to be positive, he was transferred to the Kaunas Clinical Hospital, ”said Rita Butylkina, Chief of the Infection Control Division of the Kaunas Republican Hospital, at the portal kauno.diena.lt.

In order to minimize the risk of infection, two workers currently have self-isolation.

“In order to minimize the risk of infection, two employees currently have self-isolation. The patient has not previously been to our clinic. The National Center for Public Health (NVSC) is investigating where a woman may have contracted the coronavirus, “Butylkina said.

For the journalists of the portal, the representative of the Kaunas department of NVSC clarified that the coronavirus was detected in the person on July 29. “Before being hospitalized, the person had a coronavirus test, which was positive. The person was transferred to the Kaunas Clinical Hospital,” – a representative from the Kaunas Department of NVSC commented on the situation.

The NVSC has not yet been able to provide information on all the people who have been in contact with the infected person; An epidemiological study is currently underway.

This is not the first time that COVID-19 has been approved for a patient with the RKL Psychiatric Clinic. “July 15 The patient went to the emergency and reception department of Aleksotas Sector I of the RKL Psychiatric Clinic,” said Raminta Nagelytė, a representative of the hospital.

When hospital treatment was determined, the person was placed in an isolation unit and a sample of COVID-19 was taken. The next day, the answer was that everything was fine, without coronavirus. The patient was transferred to the Mari section of the Psychiatric Clinic, but the person did not remain there for long.

July 17, the patient refused written treatment and, in the absence of indications of involuntary treatment, was discharged from the hospital. However, after three days, the situation changed dramatically when a coronavirus sample was again taken from the same person in the same hospital, only in another ward.

This time, the patient was found in the hospital when an ambulance (GMP) was delivered by car to the RKL Admission-Emergency Department on Hipodromo str. 13, “Symptoms not related to COVID-19”. He was awaiting a response from the investigation to the “dirty” reception of the unit in the isolation room.

That time, COVID-19’s answer was yes. The person was transferred to the Infectious Diseases Department of the Kaunas Clinical Hospital for further treatment.
