I suggest looking more broadly this time and understanding what the actual situation was with the eHealth system a few years back, why such a situation arose.
I would like to remind you that in 2017 we had a study by the Seimas Anti-Corruption Commission on this topic, which stated that since 2000, 40 million euros have been spent on electronic health, and we had … a system that does not work!
2015 After the transition from e-health to the Records Center, we did not see much progress, and the copies were made by technologically outdated methods in accordance with the decision of the RC managers.
If we hadn’t made any changes in the past few years, rebuilding after this incident wouldn’t have taken weeks, it wouldn’t have happened at all.
The real situation has shown that the works planned and approved last year for secure state data centers, backup servers and additional premises need to be addressed with extreme urgency. Important decisions will be made at tomorrow’s government meeting.
Unlike the beginning of the term, today we have a functioning electronic health system, we depend on it like never before. As a result, security requirements must be applied at the highest level. We discussed this more than once with the new head of the Records Center.
I understand that the task of clarifying decades of problems is not an easy one, but responsibility requires immediate solutions. And when it comes to the swift criticism of politicians by the new Records Center administration, I will say just that: in 2017. In June, I received data that a significant number of RC employees were in close contact with political parties. .
I would like to wish the current manager success not only in clarifying the institution, but also in ensuring the complete reliability and resilience of the stored data.
