“We have seen that situation. (…) We could have had even more serious problems. Copies to disk started in January, so no data was lost during the incident. Copies were made until then, but to such devices, from which the restoration of the data would have taken even longer, “S. Urbanačius told the conservative faction of the Seimas on Monday.

According to the head of the Records Center, copies are made in various ways, not only on magnetic tapes, as before, but also on discs.

According to S. Urbanavičius, the duplication kit for the electronic health system has already been purchased.

“It just came to our attention then. It is planned to have it this year. If this had happened, the electronic health problems would have been temporary,” said the head of the company.

The head of the Records Center assured that the system will be put in order before Wednesday. If that fails, he says, there are plans B and C.

Among other things, S. Urbanavičius emphasized that there are increasing doubts about the functionality of the electronic system.

“There are many problems with the functionality of the system, the system will not resist the new functionalities, we have already pointed this out to the Ministry, and more than once. It will probably be necessary to suspend the system for a while, fix it and return to the functionality extension “, said.

According to him, eHealth systems could not be pre-transferred to the backup database, but money was planned for all the work.

“It must be understood that these jobs do not happen very quickly,” said the head of the Records Center.

He also emphasized the large amount of data in the system: “We are talking about nine terabytes of data.” S. Urbanavičius asked why in 2014, when the electronic health system was delivered to the Registration Center, there was no talk of “making copies, creating backup servers.”

Among other things, S. Urbanavičius noted that the transfer of the electronic health system to backup servers was hampered not only by lack of funds, but also by lack of premises.

Yes, according to Urbanavičius, electronic health was paralyzed because there was no backup of servers and databases. He did not comment on the reasons, but claimed that other systems had such copies, so he recovered more quickly.

The RC chief acknowledged that the eHealth Manager, the Ministry of Health, had been contacted several times on the subject of data protection.

Gabrielius Landsbergis, the largest of the conservative faction, claimed that there had been at least eight of those appeals.

The head of the Records Center assured that the system will be put in order before Wednesday. If that fails, he says, there are plans B and C.

“It is not a matter of months or weeks, it is only a matter of days (when eHealth will start operating, BNS),” said the head of the company.

According to S. Urbanavičius, the server of the Registration Center was filled 15 years ago after the rain, when the pipeline broke. As a result, many of the company’s systems have been disrupted and eHealth systems have not been restored until now.

S. Urbanavičius says that it is already clear that the water has covered the server room due to the construction that is taking place near the building.

“It was probably influenced, since it is now clear (…) by the construction, which was intensive: the floor was missing and the water did not enter through the rosettes, through the cracks under the door, but through of the cracked crack, which has been visually invisible until now. ” And the water ran over us in those two closets. The whole building is basically falling apart “, – S. Urbanačius.

The development of the electronic health system for 2015 cost more than 40 million. Since 2015, when the Registration Center started to develop a centralized system for the whole of Lithuania, almost another 6 million euros have been invested. Euros In addition, approximately 2 million more are allocated for its maintenance each year. euros
