“Finding so many mushrooms is a matter of happiness,” says E. Matulaitienė, for whom mushroom is a hobby. Forests have been familiar to her since she was a child. When she was a child, she used to pick mushrooms with her parents, and now with her husband. The four-year-old daughters have not yet been brought. Both have a job with her husband, but the young woman is currently on maternity leave. The family hopes that a baby will come into the world soon, which, they jokingly say, is already getting used to the mushroom growth.
Three happy generations
E. Matulaitienė said he had been growing three times this year. For the first time, 238 brown hats were collected.
The happy generation was the second. According to Ernesta, he had never collected more than 1,000 or seen so many mushrooms in one place during his life. A few cephalopods were involved in the capture, but any one of those boletus bolts.
Although the family has been proliferating in the same forest for over a year and he is truly generous at all times, he has never been able to get so much.
A record number of fungi was collected on all four legs during the day.
The next day, after visiting the same place, the mushrooms were greeted again by a hat that blew under the forest floor. And again a bag full of mushrooms. Although it was no longer counted, it was decided by volume that it was approximately 500.
However, he noticed that the bigger ones were good and the little ones were wormwood. “It just came to our attention then. Also, the moon is changing. It will probably have to wait a while,” said Ernesta.

When it sprouts, it sprouts
The woman remembers that last year the boletus grew more among the deciduous trees, this year they have to look for them under the fir trees.
Boletus edulis does not like to grow one by one. If you already find one, look around the whole family, you’re guaranteed to see ten, sixteen, or twenty. And sometimes you can find the whole family, in fifty-one places. “Next time you can go and find nothing, but if it is already sprouting, it is sprouting,” the woman shares the peculiarities of proliferation.
The family lives in the city, but not in Ernesta’s way of sitting, so she is not pregnant while waiting, she is looking for activities. Mushrooms are not afraid. The whole family was vaccinated.
According to E. Matulaitienė, there are not so many ticks in the forest that must be protected as mosquitoes and bimbal. Although sprayed with repellents, it doesn’t save much.
Not all used, distributed
Where to put so many mushrooms and how to overcome that mountain? Ernest says he didn’t do everything, he handed out four baskets. The remaining six were cleaned until midnight. It is not dedicated to sales.
Well, it is traditionally used: part freezes, the other part is marinated, dried a little more. But first boil, bake with greaves and onions or sour cream and eat with fresh potatoes. The family still loves mushroom-filled pancakes.
A happy place is not hidden by a woman. These summer creations are found in the Vieversa forest, located in the old man of Siesikai. E. Matulaitienė says that probably only his family knows a specific place, because sometimes they find covered mushrooms that are no longer suitable for use. Therefore, no one is enough of them.
The family collects not only boletus but also leprosy and red tapas. This year is extremely fungus. “It’s just the beginning, and we’ll see what happens next,” she says.
We are interested in the prices of mushrooms in the market. The bottle can be purchased from 10 to 14 euros. Not too much, not too little …
