The news portal tv3.lt recalls that on Friday morning around 26 new cases of Covid-19 were announced in the country. Half of the 26 new confirmed cases of coronavirus are related to the outbreak at the Hegelmann Transport company in Kaunas, two cases are imported, the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) reported on Friday.

Twelve foreigners who had contact with the infected at their place of residence were confirmed at the company COVID-19 in Kaunas. These people were in isolation.

Coronavirus was also detected for a Lithuanian driver who had contacted these individuals.

A total of 34 confirmed cases are currently associated with the outbreak at the shipping company.

Nine new cases are associated with two celebrations in Vilnius County.

One of them was established for a person who had contact with a person who had attended a family celebration in Salininkai on July 4. In total, there are now eleven cases related to these family vacations in Salininkai, including this new case.

Eight other new cases are linked to other family vacations on July 11. The celebration was attended by people who returned from Croatia on July 2, who were the first to be confirmed by coronavirus. Fourteen cases of COVID-19 associated with these family vacations have been identified to date.

The twenty-third case was registered in Panevėžys County for a person who had contact with a patient. The person did not experience the characteristic symptoms of a coronavirus infection. Three contact persons were identified who were isolated. Epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

Another case was confirmed in Vilnius after an investigation into the perceived symptoms. The person was found to have been on vacation since June 30 and therefore had no contacts at work. The circumstances under which a person may have become infected are currently being clarified.

Two import cases were also identified: one person arrived at Palanga airport from Sweden through Denmark. The case was identified during a preventive inspection.

Another person returned to Lithuania from Spain on July 20 through the Vilnius airport. According to the available data, the person was isolated, had no contact with other people. The study was performed prophylactically after the trip.

In Lithuania, a total of 1986 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed for specific people, 277 people are still sick, 1616 have recovered and 99 people are isolated.
