Five of the nine new coronavirus cases were detected in Vilnius County, others were confirmed in Panevėžys, Alytus and Utena counties, and three new cases were reported, the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) reported Thursday.
Three new cases in Vilnius County are related to a family party. Two people have been isolated since July 19, and one person who has also been confirmed with COVID-19 has been exposed to them in the home environment.
“This means that a total of six cases are now linked to the outbreak, including those confirmed yesterday,” NVSC said Thursday.
The fourth case in Vilnius County is an UAB Maxima employee, who has been in isolation since July 6, and the examination was done prophylactically before returning to work. Two people were found to have contact in the home environment.
In Panevėžys county, the coronavirus was confirmed for a person who had contact with an infected person in the workplace. On July 19, this person experienced symptoms characteristic of a coronavirus infection: sore throat, headache, fever. Six people with whom the infected person came in contact outside the work environment were found to be exposed. No new contacts were identified at work.
The sixth case was confirmed for a person living in Alytus County. The circumstances under which a person became infected are still unclear. 22 exposed individuals were identified. Epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
In Utena county, COVID-19 has been confirmed for a person who has returned to Lithuania from Sweden, and an epidemiological study is also continuing in this case.
Another import case was established in Vilnius for a person who came to Vilnius from the UK for work. She had no symptoms and was tested for coronavirus infection prophylactically. Five exposed individuals were identified in the immediate vicinity.
In Panevėžys county, COVID-19 was approved for a person who arrived in Lithuania by car on July 19 from Sweden. The person does not experience the symptoms of a coronavirus infection. The person traveling together is isolated.
In Lithuania, a total of 1,960 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in specific people, 256 people are still sick, 1,611 have recovered and 107 people are isolated.
