“We are discussing in the party how it is clear which ministers, for example, can replace the prime minister. That it would not be a one-man decision, for example, the Prime Minister’s decision,” R. Karbauskis told “Žinių radio” , basing the idea matured by the “peasants” on the existing practices of other countries.
“In many countries, this is the case, for example, with the ministers of social affairs or internal affairs, in some countries in one way and in others in another, there are ministers and deputy prime ministers at the same time,” he stressed. According to R. Karbauskis, two ministers could also be approved in Lithuania as deputy prime ministers.
According to the peasant, the legalization of the state of the deputy prime minister would clarify the question of the replacement of the prime minister. Meanwhile, the “peasant” continued to talk about regulating order at the vice-minister level, it makes no sense.
“That question would be clearer if it were clear which ministers are deputy prime ministers and change prime minister when he, for example, is on vacation or going somewhere. And for ministers, when they switch between them, there is simply no way to do it and there is no point in doing it. This is decided by the Prime Minister. The point ”, summarized R. Karbauskis, adding that he sees nothing wrong with the fact that the Health Minister, Aurelijus Verygas, will be replaced for several weeks by the controversial Minister of Transport and Communications Jaroslav Narkevičius.
ELTA recalls that Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has been on annual leave since last week. The Minister of Finance Vilius Šapokas and the Minister of Energy Žygimantas Vaičiūnas have been appointed as Deputy Prime Ministers.
