“The Central Electoral Commission raised the question that everyone who went to the polls would receive gloves, a mask and a disinfectant, […] so there is no doubt that one or the other person became infected during the election. That if he is infected, it is probably not voting, but somewhere else, ”R.Tamašunienė commented at a press conference at the ministry on Tuesday.

In evaluating the current situation regarding COVID-19, residents will not be able to vote without guarantees on Election Day, he said, adding that more detailed recommendations will be made a little later.

To go to social institutions, nursing homes, you need to get even more resources; in practice, you should look like a doctor.

“[Rinkimų] Commissions, it is clear that more than one safeguard is needed. By going to social institutions, nursing homes, you must be even more self-sufficient; in practice, you must resemble a doctor so as not to carry this infection to institutions in the high-risk area. All this is evaluated, calculated, attended “, – said R.Tamašunienė.

If necessary, measures to protect the state reserve could be used during the Seimas elections, which, according to the Minister, would be reinstated later.

“But a separate reserve is being formed, especially for elections, in the Ministry of Health, which will be kept in the depots. The CEC will be in charge of delivering those measures to the polling stations,” said R.Tamašunienė.

The largest outbreaks of COVID-19, he said, are preparing for two months ahead.
