She was cited by police officers and specialists from the State Food and Veterinary Service (SFVS). A potentially illegal breeder is in the village of Naujasodis, on the territory of the gardens.

“It just came to our attention then. There were no complaints from the neighbors. No one felt smell or noise. The old man lives on the same street, but he didn’t suspect anything either. 10 years ago, yes, there were complaints about that resident, about the noise and the smell. And after that calm. Everyone thought she was no longer working, “said V. Armolaitienė.

It stayed on a potentially illegal multiplier for up to 2 hours at night, when they all broke.

“Terrible mess, strong smell. Huge garden house, inconspicuous from the outside, fence. 82 dogs found and taken away. A pre-trial investigation has started today, so I can’t say much more. When I arrived, she (the owner from the garden and possibly an illegal breeder) no longer resisted, ”said the older.

When asked if traces of illegal breeders had been found in the Karmėlava area, he said that after the events in the Kretinga district, residents were interviewed, interested, but nothing was found.

Information about the incident was also distributed on Friday afternoon by the State Food and Veterinary Service (SFVS), which announced that on September 10 and 11, SFVS Kaunas Department inspectors working with police, activists from animal welfare and Laisvės TV journalists suspected of illegal animals. breeding, inspected the animal breeding place in Kaunas district. Although this person had registered her activities with the SFVS and stated that she had two female French Bulldogs, the inspection revealed that the extent of the breeding of the animal in this area was possibly much greater.

“A total of 82 dogs found during the inspection, which were kept in small and inadequate pens, did not have enough water or food to feed these pets. All the dogs were transferred to an animal care center. The study will continue, the animals will be examined and their health will be evaluated by independent veterinarians. In light of their findings, a decision will be made to initiate a pretrial cruelty to animals investigation, ”SFVS said in a press release.

Kaunas County Police 15 minutes confirmed that a pretrial hearing on the incident began on Friday. Cruel treatment of animals is punishable by a maximum prison sentence of up to one year.

Currently, the police are awaiting the findings of specialists on the condition of the animals.

Jurgita Gustaitienė, director of Nuaro, stated that only after receiving the report, it was discussed that between 10 and 20 dogs would have to be placed in the shelter. The first crew of workers was dispatched. Later it turned out that the four-legged, much more. Soon all the possible crews of “Nuaro” had already gathered in the town of Naujasodis.

“A cosmic number of animals has been found. There will be things to do. All of our assistants and staff are mildly shocked, intoxicated by the image they see. The premises are such that there are no basic living conditions for a person. The animals live in small cages that seem unable to bark. The veterinary service will hire experts, they will evaluate. Perhaps those puppies will have some vocal cuts cut so that they do not play ”, described J. Gustaitienė the terrible situation.

According to her, from the initial examination, the skin lesions of the animals, their tangled hair, ingrown nails and the steam in the environment are such that they even appear intoxicating.

“We have seen everything, but this case is exceptional. It is by far the largest animal farm I know of. The public will see the conditions in which those animals go. Pity. We really have a lot to think about. This person (breeder – aut. Past), I don’t think I can do more activities. I don’t think it can be fixed. There are all those kennels, but this is the scariest. This is hell on earth, “said J. Gustaitienė confidently.

According to her, the owner of the dogs did not immediately agree to hand over the pets to services: she said that she loves and cares for animals. She said she cared for other animals, sometimes selling puppies to feed the rest.

“This is hell on earth,” said J. Gustaitienė confidently.

“There is absolute darkness throughout the house. We educate on mobile phones. There was no clinical examination in place,” said the director of Nuaro.

When asked if there would be enough space for 80 dogs at the facility, he acknowledged that this was a great challenge for the organization. Typically 10 dogs enter the body every day. J. Gustaitienė hopes to receive help from other benevolent organizations after receiving permission. However, according to her, these animals have special needs: they are not healthy, happy and beautiful quadrupeds.

On Friday afternoon, the director of Nuaro 15 minutes reported that it had not received authorization to distribute the seized dogs through various institutions.
