The quarantine changes related to masks and population movements will take effect on Thursday, February 25. To this day, protective masks are not required in areas open to the public if there are no people around. Residents can also move freely between all the municipalities in the ring.

The government, which met on Wednesday, extended the quarantine until March 31 at midnight.

From now on, it will be possible not to wear masks in open areas, keeping a distance of at least two meters between people who are not members of the family. The requirements for wearing masks indoors do not change.

The circulation restriction has also been extended until March 15 inclusive. However, residents can move between the municipalities of the ring, some people living in adjacent areas. In the municipalities of the city and the district of Alytus, the city and the district of Kaunas, the city and the district of Klaipėda, the city and the district of Panevėžys, the city and the district of Šiauliai, the city and the district of Vilnius, moves between the indicated adjacent municipalities.

“The decision on the movement between municipalities has been modified. The general restriction is scheduled to run until mid-March. Starting tomorrow, disability restrictions on travel between the ring and the municipalities in the middle of the ring. Nor is it prohibited to travel to work when the workplace is in another municipality, for health services, for other objectively justified reasons of urgency, when it is unavoidable to go to another municipality other than the one where you live.

The restriction also does not apply to people who travel to a municipality other than the one in which they reside, where they have real estate.

Members of a “social bubble” can also move from one municipality to another. This means that two families or two households can communicate if one of them has no more than one adult (along with minor children) or a person who needs constant care and attention.
