Of the 36 new cases of coronavirus, 17 have been confirmed in outbreaks, more than a third of which are related to the sewing company Interscalit in Šiauliai, the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) reported on Thursday.
Six new cases of COVID-19 infection and five family members have been confirmed in the outbreak associated with this company. In total, according to the NVSC, there are currently 14 workers and seven people in contact.

One of them is at the Raseiniai Police Station, where two officers were diagnosed with the disease. Public health professionals do not yet know which people may have contracted it and an epidemiological study is underway.
The second new chimney is at Limedika Pharmaceutical Company operating in Kaunas County. The infection was confirmed in two individuals. The circumstances of the infection are not yet known, the individuals felt symptoms.
Two new cases are associated with the outbreak in the Kęstutis Battalion. Based on currently available NVSC data, a total of 38 COVID-19 cases are associated with this approach.
In the Juodupė gymnasium of the Rokiškis district, coronavirus infection was also confirmed in two people. The case was confirmed by the NVSC on Wednesday. It is suspected that this outbreak may be related to an outbreak registered in the Rokiškis district on August 26.
A new case has been identified in Visaginas, related to a company participating in the construction project of the Vilnius cogeneration plant. Seven cases are already associated with this approach.
One case is also related to a family celebration in the Trakai district. According to the NVSC, the person may have contracted it from a colleague who attended the celebration. A total of 13 cases have already been linked to this outbreak.
Another case was confirmed in Klaipeda County. It is associated with the fireplace in Klaipedos Energija. In total, five cases are associated with this fireplace.
In addition, the NVSC states that the circumstances of the infection are unknown in six cases, another 10 people became infected after contact with a known patient.
On Wednesday, 32 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the country. After contact with the sick, 27 people became infected. The specialists could not determine the circumstances of the infection of 3 people. There were also 2 registered cases.
It was also reported this Wednesday that the coronavirus is already spreading in 18 educational institutions in the country. Next week, NVSC is hosting distance learning for educational institutions on how to protect themselves against the spread of the virus.
Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga told LRT radio on Thursday that as of September 15, the self-isolation time for those returning from abroad is expected to be shortened.
