Rates for couriers working in Vilnius were reduced on Monday. Until then, the basic fee for a food delivery was 3 euros, now it is 2.8 euros.
“It may seem different, but those 20 cents feel great in your pocket.” 15 minutes Bolt Food courier Albert Bandero said. – I earn 700-800 euros per week (before taxes – 15 minutes), that is a monthly income, more or less, I will lose about 200 euros “.
It will not work for four hours.
This courier service, which has been working on the platform in Vilnius for about half a year, says it is one of the top earners on the Bolt Food platform, therefore, its salary will decrease more when the delivery rate changes.
According to him, the announcement of the reduced rates in the Telegram application was shared with emails 23 minutes before the changes took effect.
Bandero said he had been working for Bolt Food recently and that it was less rewarding due to increased congestion and fuel prices after quarantine.
He also regretted that the new rate was not introduced by agreement or by explaining to employees why this should be done, and now management does not even write in emails.

“We have received no response or explanation from them. It has to show in some other way that we want to go back to the old rates,” said A. Bandero.
About 80 Bolt Food couriers in Vilnius will not work in protest on Wednesday from 11 a.m. at 3 p.m. and they will gather to picket in the Plaza de la Catedral.
Bandero says he hopes more emails will join him after news of the strike is publicly released, as colleagues have limited opportunities to communicate with each other without meeting in the office or anywhere else.
“They (the managers – 15 minutes) too much to pay. For them, of course, it is good to reduce tariffs, but we are suffering it, “said the organizer of the strike.

Protesters demand the reinstatement of the basic delivery rate of € 3, a more responsible recruitment policy and respect for experienced emails. If the company does not agree to start negotiations, the couriers promise to repeat and prolong the strikes.
Encourage messengers to work during peak hours
Andrius Pacevičius, Bolt’s boss in Lithuania, says the rate changes are intended to encourage more mailings to work during peak hours. In that case, the emails would even earn more than they earn now.
According to him, the price of delivery during peak hours has increased to 4.5 euros.
“We have introduced these changes to ensure optimal service delivery, especially during peak hours, as well as to ensure a good and competitive income for all emails working on our platform, from now on they can earn more than before.” 15 minutes A. Pacevičius stated in the comment sent.
According to him, customers who request food will not feel these changes: the service will cost them the same.

A. Pacevičius also regretted having learned about the planned picket by the media. He assured that none of the emails had direct contact with Bolt’s management in Lithuania.
He also noted that Bolt Food emails are not employees of Bolt Services LT.
Bolt Services together with partners in Lithuania also provide transportation and sharing services for scooters.
