30 Cases of the “British” Strain of Coronavirus Have Been Detected in Lithuania: Announce Which City Else

A total of 516 samples were analyzed this week: 185 samples at the Santara Clinic Laboratory of Vilnius University Hospital (VUL), 88 at the Kaunas Clinic Laboratory of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), 24 at the Vilnius University Center for Natural Sciences (VU) (GMC) Laboratory, 24 at the laboratory of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) – 173.

Of these, 30 are cases of the B.1.1.7 virus line (from the UK). 17 cases were detected in the LSMU Kaunas Clinic Laboratory, 8 – in the ECDC Laboratory, 3 – in the VUL Santara Clinic Laboratory and 2 cases – in the VU GMC Laboratory.

Of all the cases identified, 8 belong to Marijampolė county, 7 – to Telšiai county, 6 – to Vilnius county, 2 – to Klaipėda county, 2 – to Utena county, 1 case to Kaunas, Tauragė, Šiauliai, Jurbarkas and Alytus counties.

A total of 1051 samples were sequenced and 80 cases of the B.1.1.7 virus line were detected in Lithuania, according to the sequencing project coordinated by the NVSPL.
