3 of the import cases approved yesterday were identified in Klaipeda County. In addition, two import cases, from Ukraine and Uzbekistan, are confirmed in Kaunas county. Individuals do not experience the characteristic symptoms of the coronavirus, proven prophylactically.

2 cases identified yesterday in Vilnius are related to the fireplace in the “Bardakas” bar that operates in the old town of Vilnius. People experience specific symptoms of the coronavirus. There are currently 6 cases associated with this approach.

Another 7 people, 4 in Vilnius, 1 in each of Kaunas, Panevėžys and Klaipėda counties, became infected after contact with people with confirmed COVID-19 disease.
The circumstances of the infection in 6 people are not yet clear.
Currently, epidemiologists have not yet been able to determine how 6 people were infected: 2 in Kaunas, Vilnius and Klaipėda counties. 5 subjects were studied for specific coronavirus symptoms and 1 for prophylaxis. Epidemiological studies have shown that people did not travel abroad and did not interact with confirmed COVID-19 cases.

This week, starting August 10. until August 14. Including, residents of Ignalina, Prienai, Šalčininkai, Molėtai, Kupiškis, Kaunas, Panevėžys and Vilnius districts, as well as the cities of Panevėžys, Visaginas and Kaunas will undergo more intensive tests for coronavirus infection. These 11 municipalities have a higher incidence of COVID-19 disease (coronavirus infection) than other Lithuanian municipalities.
