19 new cases of coronavirus in Lithuania: 6 related to an outbreak at a sheriff’s office in Panevėžys

According to the NVSC report, five of the cases confirmed the last day are imported, since two people have been infected, not identified. Twelve people became infected as a result of their contacts with confirmed cases of COVID-19, ten of which were associated with foci of infection.

Imported cases – from Sweden, Russia, Poland and Belarus

The first of the imported cases was confirmed (in Šiauliai County) to one person on July 19. He arrived in Lithuania from Belarus through the Medininkai border checkpoint in his own car. The third case was confirmed in Klaipėda County to a person on July 26. He returned from Sweden to Ventspils, and from there to Klaipeda County. COVID-19 had no symptoms and was prophylactically tested. The person was isolated, no high-risk contact persons were identified.

The fourth case was registered in Panevėžys county. The person was found on July 24. He returned from Russia. Specific coronavirus symptoms were experienced during the trip. After the trip, the person was isolated, no contact persons were identified.

The fifth case was also reported in Panevėžys County. The person was found to have returned from Poland. The study for coronavirus infection was performed for perceived symptoms. Contact persons are identified.

How two people became infected is unknown.

The sixth case was confirmed in Kaunas County. On July 23, the infected person experienced symptoms characteristic of a coronavirus infection. It is unclear how the person was infected, but it was discovered that as of July 14. the person contacted relatives who had returned from Germany. These individuals were evaluated for COVID-19 disease and had no complaints or symptoms. Currently available data have identified two people at high risk. Epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

The seventh case was also confirmed in Kaunas County. COVID-19 disease was diagnosed in a person who was examined before hospitalization for perceived symptoms. Where a person may have been infected has not been identified. Epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

10 cases were associated with foci of the disease

The eighth case was established in Šiauliai County. COVID-19 disease has been confirmed in a person who has been in contact with a patient. Because the person had a high-risk exposure, they were isolated in isolation after the onset of symptoms. No exposed persons have been identified.

The ninth of the confirmed cases yesterday (Vilnius County) was identified in a person who had been in contact with an infected coronavirus. It was discovered that he had no contact with other people.

The tenth case concerns a transport company in Kaunas. The coronavirus has been confirmed in an Uzbek citizen who has been exposed to previously confirmed cases of COVID-19. The person has been isolated until now, so no contact has been established with other people. A total of 32 cases of COVID-19 are currently associated with this outbreak at the transportation company.

The eleventh case was confirmed yesterday in Vilnius County. The person experienced symptoms of the disease on July 21. The man was found to have attended on July 18. A family celebration in the Šalčininkai district, which was later attended by a person with the COVID-19 disease. There are currently four cases of infection associated with this outbreak. A total of sixteen people attended the celebration, so all are isolated.

The twelfth case was recorded in Vilnius County. COVID-19 was approved for a person who has been isolated since July 17 due to exposure to a patient. The person was examined prophylactically and did not feel any characteristic symptoms of the infection. Six new cases confirmed yesterday in Panevėžys are associated with an outbreak at a bailiff’s office.
