189 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths in Šiauliai County

Currently, 1117 cases have been epidemiologically diagnosed (1731 cases entered the NVSC system in the late afternoon or evening).

There are currently 158 cases (of those for which epidemiological studies have been conducted) of cases in which the circumstances of a person’s infection are not clear; Epidemiological studies have shown that they did not go abroad with confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Most of the cases, 43, were registered yesterday at the Strėvininkai welfare home in Kaišiadorys district. Cases were registered for 24 residents of these houses and 19 for employees.

Yesterday 10 cases were confirmed at the Marijampolė Hospital: for 2 employees and 8 patients. In addition, 10 cases were confirmed at Vilkaviškis Hospital.

Cases are also registered in the Marijampolė Penitentiary Center. Yesterday a total of 16 more cases were confirmed here.
According to currently available data, 103 cases related to outbreaks in families were recorded in Lithuania on the last day.

The NVSC reports that it received information from treatment facilities last day about 21 deaths from coronavirus. Currently, the infection has claimed 611 lives.

6 deaths were recorded in Panevėžys county. The subjects belonged to the age groups 40-49, 60-69, 70-79 and 80-89.

4 deaths were recorded in Vilnius county. The subjects belonged to the age groups 50-59, 60-69 and 80-89.

There were 3 deaths in Tauragė County. The individuals belonged to the age groups 70-79 and 80-89.

2 deaths were recorded in Šiauliai county. The individuals belonged to the 50-59 and 80-89 age groups.

In Telšiai County, 2 deaths were recorded. The individuals belonged to the 50-59 and 80-89 age groups.

One case was registered in Utena, Marijampolė, Kaunas and Klaipėda counties. The individuals belonged to the age group 60-69, 70-79, and 80-89 years.

In addition, the last day 12 deaths were reported in coronavirus deaths from other causes.
