“The acquisition and renewal of military equipment for deterrence purposes is an integral part of state security,” says Vilius Semeška, Deputy Minister of National Defense.
He points out that not only foreign manufacturers, but also Lithuanian companies are involved in the acquisition of the national defense system for the purchase of military equipment, thus creating the conditions for the development of Lithuanian business and preserving the funds of foreign investors in the country. The works of the second stage of production of the AROCS trucks were carried out in Lithuania and were carried out by UAB KMT.

Another 10 units of these special trucks are scheduled to be delivered to the Lithuanian Armed Forces later this year ahead of schedule, fulfilling the commitments made over four years. The agreement on the acquisition of 25 trucks of this type was signed by the Defense Resources Agency of the Ministry of National Defense and the authorized representative of the German manufacturer Daimler AG in Lithuania UAB Veho Lietuva in January last year.
The AROCS 4142 AK 8×8 / 4 trucks are equipped with a hydraulic loading system for H-shaped containers, two loading-loading platforms are manufactured, which are adapted for the transport of ammunition with attached / removable tent. They are also equipped with a loading and transport platform. It can transport wheeled and tracked vehicles: HMMWV, MB UNIMOG, Land Rover, M113, etc.
Special purpose trucks are used for military logistics operations, as well as to prepare for military operations and other defense functions. These trucks can circulate both on public roads and off it. It can carry at least 16 tons of cargo, self-propelled PzH 2000 howitzer ammunition, containers, vehicles, equipment and other military supplies.

In recent years, when renewing the fleet of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, ZETROS 3643 tractors with trailers and UNIMOG U5000 five-ton tactical trucks were purchased from the German manufacturer Daimler AG.
Approximately 70% of the purchases of the national defense system, the defense budget remains in Lithuania by purchasing goods and services from Lithuanian producers and paying taxes. Armaments and military equipment are mainly purchased from foreign manufacturers.
