1. Industrial tourism experiences in Panevėžys

You say you have really seen everything in Lithuania? This year, the city of Panevėžys is ready to present its new product, industrial tourism, which has already received much attention and praise, even more actively. Travelers thirsty for unexpected experiences will be able to learn about the city’s history and heritage by visiting flax, soap, glass, canning or sugar factories, a meat factory, or a windmill that once ground grain.

2. Kurhaus basin

The symbol of the Palanga resort – Palanga Kurhaus, which was one of the resort’s first entertainment and recreation buildings, was fully revived in Palanga. On the ground floor there is already an amphitheater room adapted to the theater, as well as an ornate representative space for events. In the latter, the interior of the period of residence of the Counts Tiškevičius has been restored, already quietly awaiting the gazes of curious visitors.

3. Record Player Museum

For music lovers: afternoon at the Turntable Museum in the Biržai district, A. Podėnienė’s rural tourism farm. In 2021, travelers will be invited to participate in the educational program “Turntable Stories and Music to Tea”, during which they will see an impressive collection of record players collected from different eras and will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the ritual of listening to vinyl records.

4. Walking on the seabed

In Jurbarkas, visitors will find a new route surrounded by nature, inviting them on a 17 km journey through the Karšuva forest. The route starts right next to the historic Lithuanian town of Viešvilė and dips further towards the edge of the Viešvilė reserve. Here you can see what nature looks like untouched by human hand, see elk, red deer, wild boar. Going further, you can climb the highest continental dunes in Lithuania. This is the Kaskalnis Reserve. 5. Vilkaviškis will invite tourists to bake homemade bread.

The Vilkaviškis community started implementing a large-scale project “Made in Vilkaviškis” in 2020 and already this year will invite travelers from all over Lithuania to get to know the city through local products: visit a bakery education and take home a bar of hot bread; participate in a butter shake lesson; drink herbal tea; At the birthplace of Jonas Basanavičius, to learn how to make deep coffee and of course to taste fresh, mild-flavored ice cream delivered from the Art Galcio ice cream factory to the nearby shop.

6. Interwar cinema renewed “Romuva”

At the beginning of this summer, after reconstruction, it is planned to open one of the most important objects of modernist architecture in Kaunas: the historical cinema “Romuva”. According to the tourism experts of the city of Kaunas, the film screenings will return to the cinema. On the occasion of the opening, it is planned to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the first film made in Lithuania.

7. 2021 The capital of Lithuanian culture, Neringa, will become an island of culture

The Lithuanian Capital of Culture returns to the water and this year Neringa takes over this title from Trakai. By presenting the ambitious “Island of Culture” project, the resort in 2021, having overcome the waves of the pandemic, will invite travelers to discover peace and inspiration and immerse themselves in new cultural experiences. The “Purity” music, visual installations and art of light project, created by composer and musician Andrius Mamontovas and visual installation creator Jolita Vaitkutė, will also start in May. It is already known that an international team of artists gathered in Neringa during the summer will perform GF Händel’s baroque opera “Eyes and Galatea”.
