List of winners of Venice Film Festival 2020


The festival on Lido was given its top prizes on Saturday under the leadership of competition jury president Kate Blanchett.

The Venice Film Festival, which revived the autumn festival season in Italy with a physical event that began on September 2, ended on Saturday with its annual awards ceremony. See the full list of winners and watch the live stream below.

Led by President Cate Blanchett, the jury for the main competition includes Austrian director Veronica Franz (“Goodnight Mommy,” “The Lodge”), British filmmaker Joanna Hogg (“The Souvenir”), Italian writer and novelist Nicola Legiona, German filmmaker Was happening. Together, they handed out top prizes to the festival, including the Golden Lion, which went on a “joker” last year, chaired by jury president Lucresia Martel. This year the Golden Lion went to “Nomadland”, which received an unprecedented reception this week as well as at the Toronto International Film Festival, and that seems to be in direct contrast to the Oscars.

Meanwhile, in the competition resonance or horizons, in parallel with the main competition, the French favorite Claire Dennis (“High Life,” “BO Travel”), Oscar Allegria (Spain), Francesca Comencini (Italy), the jury led by Caterial, and the Cઝril Reading (USA).
