Head coach Jaap Stam made no change at FC Cincinnati beginning in XI before Tuesday night’s game against the Portland Timbers in the MLS at the Back Tournament Knockout Stage presented by Audi.
This is only the third time that the FCC has used the same headlines in several weeks since the club joined MLS. The last instance was on August 17, 2019 against New York City FC at Nippert Stadium.
About the team of the day
Jurgen Locadia is available and could make his MLS Back Tournament debut if Stam uses the forward as a substitute.
Locadia was not available for the previous four games when he recovered from a quad injury and last played on March 7 at Atlanta United FC.
The Dutchman is the only change on the day’s list.
Injury update
Jimmy McLaughlin (ankle), Spencer Richey (concussion) and Maikel van der Werff (groin) are not available against Portland.
Other Notes
As a reminder, the knockout stage games do not count toward the regular season standings, but all three games in the group stage do.
Tuesday’s game is the first time the FCC has played in a knockout game since June against Saint Louis FC in the 2019 Lamar Hunt United States Open Cup.
