LG’s quirky Wing 5G dual display smartphone is almost here

LG clears the 5G train and after introducing a few smartphones with support for lightning fast data speeds, it plans to spice up its 5G offering with something less mainstream. The following 5G smartphone is coming from LG has the name Wing and it will have two monitors instead of just one.As we explained in our previous report, what will differentiate the LG Wing 5G from other smartphones for dual display is the rather unique form factor. The rotating main screen is what sets it apart from other dual-screen phones, but it is not really that unusual.

LG Wing 5G (as it will be called) was launched in the second half of 2020 and it will probably cost more than $ 1000. That price is normally reserved for flagship handsets, although the LG Wing 5G does not meet the requirements.

For starters, the smartphone seems to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, at least according to the latest Geekbench mention (via MySmartPrice). On the bright side, it appears that LG has decided to flesh it out by adding no less than 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory.

Earlier reports claimed that the main screen of the LG Wing 5G will be the same (6.8-inch) as the flagship model, the LG Velvet. As for the secondary display, it may sound bizarre, but the Wing 5G is expected to have a smaller square screen.

While some of the hardware of LG Wing 5G may not be similar to many of the current flagships, perhaps the fact that it is a 5G, a dual display smartphone may justify the high price. Or maybe LG will change its mind and decide to sell it for a lot less. We will definitely learn more in a few weeks.
