Smart TV naming conventions aren’t very clear, but we’ll break down the differences between the two sets here. Both the CX and BX models came out earlier this year as part of LG’s 2020 OLED lineup. The display panels are essentially identical, and being OLED, you will get the best color product and the best black possible. They are designed for TV- and movie-watching gaming, as well as support for their 120 Hz refresh rate and NVIDI G-CYCC and AMD FreeSync. Both sets also run WebOS, LG’s Smart TV operating system, and they come with a “Magic Remote” that supports these commands.
The biggest difference between the CX and BX models is that the previous ones have a slightly faster processor (the A9 Gen 3 AI processor to be 4K accurate). They also have stands of different sizes, but they are even less important than the anomalies of the smallest processors. A slight processor upgrade to the CX might not be noticeable to you if this is your first OLED TV (or a TV in this price range), but we think it’s worth printing an extra 100 out if you can afford it. Also, the deal on the CX set is better in both as it brings it down to the same price as the 48-inch respective model.
