LG has designed a wearable air purifier mask for your face

Korean electronics and appliance maker LG has unveiled a state-of-the-art air purifier mask that looks primitive by comparison to most facial ingots.

LG IFA will be showcasing the Purecare Wearable Air Purifier in 2020, a consumer electronics and home appliance trade show that typically takes place in Berlin each year. However, due to the epidemic, the event is closed to the public and most product showcases will be on stages as opposed to having open booths for people to visit.

LG will be hosting a virtual display to display the new mask along with other products.

LG Purecare uses wearable two H13 HPA filters, the same filters used in the company’s home air purifier products. According to LG, it allows users to breathe clean, filtered air.

The wearable is equipped with a respirator sensor that detects the wearer’s breathing cycle and volume, and accordingly adjusts the dual three-speed fans, speeding up or slowing down to help air intake while breathing to make breathing easier. The company said.

“The Puricare Wearable Air Purifier is a compelling addition to our growing lineup of products designed to deliver meaningful health and hygienic benefits,” said Dan Song, president of LG Electronics Home Appliances and Air Solutions Company. “At a time when consumers are looking for ways to make life safer and more convenient, it’s important that we can provide measurable value-added solutions.”

LG says it is organically designed to reduce air leakage around the nose and chin, and it can be worn comfortably “until the last hours”. It offers eight hours of battery life and offers up to two hours at a low setting.

The wearable also offers a charging case equipped with a UV-LED light that “destroys harmful insects.” LG also bills the mask as an “environmentally responsible solution”, as the company says every part of the LG Purecare wearable is replaceable and recyclable.

There are no details on how much it will sell or when it will be released.

IFA 2020 takes place during 3-5 September.
