Lemonade company announces ‘Littlest Bailout’ program to help children with lemonade stands

Country Time Lemonade announced its “Littlest Bailout” program for “smaller entrepreneurs”: kids with businesses in lemonade stands.

The company says they will award a “ransom” of $ 100 to the children to encourage entrepreneurship.

“A financial aid program to help smaller small businesses: lemonade stands,” said the program’s website.

“Stimulus checks to help children preserve the values of lemonade stands, honest work, and entrepreneurship, while putting a little juice back into the economy,” he explains.

Country Time released a video explaining why the show started:

The video appears to criticize some of the companies that requested and received bailout funds from the federal government for the economic downturn of the coronavirus pandemic blockades.

“Those small business bailouts will go to not-so-small corporations,” says the announcer.

“Steakhouses, sports teams, oil companies?” he continues. “The big boys muscling the little ones out of the way? That doesn’t seem right!”

Children over the age of 14 can request the “little boost” at countrytimebailout.com. Children under the age of 14 will need a parent or guardian to apply. The application period will end on August 14.

Many companies and organizations have faced criticism for taking coronavirus funds from the government when so many small businesses were denied the benefit.

Country Time made headlines in 2018 with a similar campaign to pay fines for children who were arrested for running a lemonade stand without a business permit.

“Children across the country are being arrested for operating lemonade stands without a permit. We are taking the lead on #SaveLemonadeStands by paying the fines + child permits this year. For every RT you get, we will donate $ 1 (up to $ 500,000 ) to help children next year [and] beyond, “they tweeted.

The current stimulus campaign had a similar positive message.

“So when life gives you social distance, you make lemonade!” the video announcer concludes.
